Capturing distant wildlife from the comfort of my RV is something I love, so a telephoto lens that offers exceptional reach without breaking the bank had my attention. This lens delivers on reach, stretching from 420 to 1600 mm with the teleconverter, and it feels solid in my hands.
The manual controls are simple enough, but that's where the ease ends. With no autofocus or electronic aperture control, getting sharp images can be tricky, and the image softness at the long end is noticeable, especially if you're pushed to 1600 mm.
Plus, the slow aperture means low-light shots are mostly out of the question without a tripod. It's a good budget-friendly option for extreme telephoto needs, but it's not without its quirks.
